[Throwback Thursday 09.19.2013] Garbed in garbage bags
It's still my birthday month and it had me thinking about these little monthly "photo shoots" we used to do at the office for birthday celebrants. This one here is from not too long ago in 2010, which makes it my youngest throwback post.
For this shoot we made an attempt at garbage bag couture and fashioned different outfits from plastic. We took to the all-powerful internet for inspiration and although it took a lot of work, I think it's safe to say we were all very pleased with the end result. And this was the main image that went on display on our fun board:
And here are a couple more group shots:
While the ladies had way more leeway in terms of creativity, I was confined to a sci-fi-like vest. At least I got to wear some Adam Lambert-esque makeup here. And oh, with the little hair I have left I still managed to force an up-do.
Meanwhile, the ladies's creations ranged from really skimpy, midriff-baring numbers to more relaxed dresses and some full-length gowns. It was really awesome.
Our pièce de résistance was hands-down this elaborate (for us at least) layered long gown. The train reveals a shorter section that falls above the knee and there's this long piece that connects from the back of the head to the wearer's finger. With a few tweaks, I reckon it could pass off for a red carpet look or something.
But in the end, garbage has to be disposed...
Let's bring back these photo shoots, shall we?
so creative to use such material, nice!
